3D

3D Film.
1. What was the earliest 3D film ?
- give details about how it was made
The earliest 3D film that was shown to an actual paying audience was "The Power Of Love",
premiered at Ambassador Hotel Theater in LA on the 27th of september 1922. It was projected in dual-strip in the red/ green anaglyphic format. Making it be the first known film in which anaglyph glasses were worn & that utilzed dual-strip was used. Harry k Fairall was the films producer & Robert F Elder the cinematographer.
whether coloured filters on the projection ports were usecd or whether tinted prints were used is still unknown.

2. Time Line of 3D movies.
- 3D film “L’arrivée du train” filmed in 1903.
- 1900 - 1946 experimentation - A few films are shot with small budgets to try to look into the secrets of stereoscopic production.
- 1922. " The Power Of Love
- 1950 - 1960 3D saw its first success. a sort of commercial success of “Bwana Devil”, released by United Artists in 1952.
- more than 60 films, one being Hitchcock’s “Dial M for Murder” and “Hondo”, starring John Wayne.
- 1973-1975, success in creating interest due to such films as “Jaws 3D”, “Comin at Ya!” and “Friday the 13th – Part 3”
- 1986-2000 Imax 3D format was introduced, viewings of "Transitions” at Expo ‘86 in Vancouver.
- 2001 to today - Shark boy & lava girl,spykids 3D, My Bloody Valentine etc.

Monsters vs Aliens was produced in a stereoscopic 3-D format and alot of computer software. A 2D version of the movie will also be released.
* marketing .
The marketing of Monsters vs aliens started with two versions of the trailer, they show General W.R. Monger's plan to use the monsters to defeat the aliens. The first trailer version was featured during the advertisments of the " Kung Fu Panda" dvd.The other version was then shown with " Madagascar , Escape 2 Africa". Then a full length trailer was launched on the internet.

3D
What is 3D ?
3D is based on the way the human brain and eyes function. It is something having a 3 dimensional form or appearance. It is the illusion of some sort of depth in either a movie or photograph. 3D dimensional images can be seen while wearing a special type of glasses, one lense red and one lense cyan.

Matrix Assignment.





1. Where was “The Matrix” filmed?
The matrix was filmed in Sydney, Australia.


2. Where did the directors get the idea for “The Matrix” and what problems did that cause?
The directors got the idea for "The Matrix" from a comic strip .


3. In the movie, what is ‘The Matrix’?
In the film the matrix is a future where the whole world is controlled by computers & reality perceived by humans is infact the matrix, it is only a computer program.


4. If the matrix is only a computer program, why do people die in real life if they die in the program?
People die in real life when they die in the matrix because the computer program is functioned through there minds and if they have no mind then they have zero control of there bodies.


5. How was the fight sequence filmed and what influence did the Hong Kong film makers have on these scenes?
The fight sequence was made by alot of wire work and alot of hand on kind of acti0n. The actors had months of heavy training, and the hong kong film makers had alot of influence on the scenes throughout the movie.


6. How did they get the 3D still image effect?
They got the 3D still image effect by film interploration techniques.


7. What steps were involved in filming the helicopter scene?
The steps involved in filming the helicopter scene was being shot in two different buildings & on a big step.

8. What is AI (Artificial Intelligence)?
Artificial Intelligence is the intelligence a machine withholds.

9. Movies like “The Matrix” and the Terminator franchise represent a fear of new technologies. Discuss why you think people may be worried about the advances in computer technology.
People may be worried about the advances in computer technology because of how much technology is used in every day life & could one day exceed to be completely relied on by people in this world.


10. What does the character ‘Neo’ represent?
The character 'Neo' represents the 'One', who has the ability to save the world.
